Dual Enrollment at Columbia College

Earn college credit for Columbia College by taking classes while you're still in high school.

High School Dual Enrollment (HDE) allows you to enroll in Columbia College classes and start earning college credit. This academic credit can be applied toward a college degree.

Completing a HDE class has several benefits, allowing you to:

Graduate from college faster

HDE classes allow you to earn college credit before you start college. This can help you fulfill your degree requirements sooner and graduate from college faster.

Save money

HDE classes at Columbia College are $75 per credit hour, saving you hundreds of dollars on each class. Please note that federal financial aid is not available for dual enrollment students.

Transfer credits to college

In addition to transferring your HDE credit to Columbia College, you may be able to transfer it to other schools. Columbia College is regionally accredited, meaning many institutions will accept the credit. Acceptance of transfer credit is at the discretion of a receiving institution and can't be guaranteed.

Fit HDE classes around your high school schedule

You can take dual enrollment classes online, anytime, anywhere, or in the evening at any of our locations across the country. These classes start six times each year and last for eight weeks. HDE students can also take daytime classes on our traditional campus in Columbia, Missouri on a 16-week semester basis.

Go beyond high school

HDE allows you to continue studying a specific topic if you've already taken the courses your high school offers.

You’ll  be able to use the Columbia College library (online and at our main campus in Columbia, Missouri). HDE students also get free access to all home Cougar athletic events in Columbia.
